Little is found about Crossword Quiz, but it was, without a doubt, the first game show based on crosswords. One website on Quiz Shows [https://gameshows.fandom.com/wiki/] states that the show was heard on ABC Radio: 7/6/1947 – 9/21/1947, although the date of the show seems to indicate it was on earlier than that.
