WANDA SYKES CHECKS IN

** "As comedians, that's what we do. And it's getting harder to do that because it's not even censorship. It's that there's a group of people who are controlling the media - but it's not gonna stop us, we'll keep speaking out..."

Wanda Sykes Talks Undercard, And Her Moms Mabley in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Along with recreating the ghost of Harriet Tubman in Big Mouth, and the upcoming Tangled, in which Wanda mixes it with Bryan Cranston and that dynamic comic duo, Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman.

And while switching it up to serious in Undercard, in which Wanda's broken character and failed mother Cheryl, a former boxer turned trainer, struggles as a recovering alcoholic as well. Sykes also revisits the personal impact of portraying the Jim Crow defiant, first black female standup, Moms Mabley, a powerful inspiration in her own life.

** "We fall for the same lies - as they pick our pockets and sell us our own wallets over and over again..."

               'THE ARSONIST'

Pacifica Host Garland Nixon on the road to war - from speculations to potential ramifications. And what it all has to do with the contradictions of Zionism, weapons of mass destruction, grocery stores, pirates, Juan Guaido - and 'I watched Trump's State Of The Union, it really sickened me...'

** "I love these portraits, I like the idea of penetrating the theater of politics. Not because I'm anti-fascist, though I am - but because of the artistic process behind them, their intention beyond their political implication..."

'Susie Wiles, JD Vance, And The Junkyard Dogs.' In our Hearing Art excursion this week, Canvas essayist Shawn Grenier unravels the politics of those enigmatic Trump Cabinet portraits in Vanity Fair.

And with connections to walls, a doorway, a lightbulb the size of Susie's face, Rubio staring at a lamp, Karoline 'the mouthpiece' Leavitt's lip filler injection marks - and 'a doomed sinking boat full of Haitian immigrants, and the US military invasion of Iraq...'
