THE TROUBLES PODCAST ABOUT NEW YORK CITY INVOLVEMENT.

I'll play selected audio clips from The Troubles Podcast. The big question the podcast explores: Was it purely humanitarian aid—food, clothing, support for families—or were funds also funneled toward weapons and the armed struggle? It mentions when I   renting out a  sign in Times Square during Christmas to flash holiday greetings to IRA prisoners .There are also stories the NYPD Emerald Society Pipe Band marching in in Bundoran, County Donegal, events honoring IRA hunger strikers Then, in the second half, I'll be joined by Steve Epstein An Hassan to talk about his one-man play, Chasing Manhood. It's a queer love story set in New York City's Meatpacking District during the gritty, transformative 1970s. Back then, the area was in steep decline as a meatpacking hub, with abandoned warehouses, dark alleys, and the piers turning into a raw, vibrant underworld. It’s a powerful look at a vanished New York — and the people who lived, loved, and survived there.
