Zami NOBLA on the Impact of Trump Admin. Cutbacks on Aging Queer Communities

Tune to OUT FM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 8 to 9 PM Eastern time on 99.5 FM WBAI New York tonight when we will be joined by four members of Zami Nobla, the National Organization of Black Lesbians on Ageing, as we engage in a critical discussion with four members of that organization, Mary Anne Adams, Wilhelmina Perry Janyce Jackson Jones Nosente Abadeet Uhuti.  ZAMI NOBLA (National Organization of Black Lesbians on Aging) is a membership-based organization committed to building a base of power for Black lesbians. https://www.zaminobla.org

Wilhelmina and Mary Anne will start off describing the impact that the Trump administration’s policies and cuts will/are have on our aging queer communities, especially with regard to the Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare cuts.

We will then hear from Nosente Abadeet Uhuti, who is currently working as an advocate on aging,  and she will give us a first hand perspective on how these cuts are affecting our black and lesbian communities  currently and what to expect in future as the more cuts come down the line.

 Lastly, we will hear from Janyce Jackson Jones with solutions  or action plans that can employed in order to survive these very serious cuts to our services and programs.
