DISABILITY RIGHTS: WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

Monday, July 26 marks 31 years since the Americans with Disabilities Act became law. This landmark legislation was the first federal civil rights law on behalf of persons with disabilities.

More than 54 million Americans with disabilities, regardless of ability, have access to public accommodations, employment, transportation, telecommunications, and all state and local government services because of the ADA.

Join host Jeff Simmons on this episode of City Watch to discuss the long fight for inclusion, equity and opportunity - the successes and setbacks.

Joining Jeff is Judith Heumann, an internationally recognized leader in the disability community and a lifelong civil rights advocate for disadvantaged people, and Kathy Martinez, President and CEO of Disability Rights Advocates.
