LAW AND DISORDER NOVEMBER 9, 2026

Co-hosts Heidi Boghosian and Stephen Rohde ask whether Donald Trump’s second term poses the greatest government threat to the First Amendment since the McCarthy Era. David McCraw, senior newsroom lawyer for The New York Times and author of “Truth in Our Times,” joins us to assess the indictments of critics, the threats to broadcast licenses, and the reporters barred from White House events.

Hosts then look at an FBI raid on a Florida journalist’s home over unaired Fox News footage, and a police raid on a small Kansas newspaper whose 98-year-old co-owner died the next day. Caitlin Vogus of the Freedom of the Press Foundation joins us to discuss the 13 felony counts Tim Burke now faces and the settlements reporter Phyllis Zorn won in Marion, Kansas.
