PENELOPE: A LOVE STORY

What can a wild animal teach us about trust, love and compassion?

On Sunday, October 11, at 9 AM ET, WBAI 99.5 FM NY Animal Matters hosts Jeff Simmons and Erin Clarke welcome author and artist Paul Bochner for a conversation about his new book, Penelope.

The book tells the true story of an injured, apparently abandoned fawn who began visiting Bochner’s Hudson Valley home. While Penelope remained wild and free, she and Bochner formed a remarkable bond that changed the way he understood animals and their emotional lives.

We’ll discuss how Penelope learned to trust him, what their relationship revealed, the ethical questions involved in helping wildlife and how Bochner’s photographs bring their story to life.
