Co-hosts Michael Smith and Jim Lafferty discuss a 100-page McCarthyite propaganda report issued by the State Department, as well as a Trump National Security Memorandum, both of which critics document, may serve as the ideological justification for an escalated assault on the entire movement of the left. Our guest, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges, explains how the report casts a wide net across more than 40 left-leaning groups and individuals.
Hosts then examine the case of Mahmoud Khalil, a recent Columbia University graduate who advocated for Palestinian rights on campus. As many know, he became the target by senior Trump administration officials and private groups. Khalil is now represented by the Center for Constitutional Rights and a private law firm.
