BUDGET NEGOTIATIONS, HOPEFUL LEADERS & JALOPY THEATRE
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and the state legislature are in the final stages of negotiating the $250 billion annual state budget with both houses of the legislature calling for higher taxes on the rich and large corporations while the governor remains adamantly opposed. We'll speak with democratic socialist Assemblymember Phara Souffrant Forrest of Brooklyn about the latest power plays in Albany and how the public can influence the final outcome. We'll also speak with former Andrew Cuomo nemesis Lindsey Boylan who is running for a city council seat on Manhattan's west side and we'll be joined in studio's by Eli Smith of the Jalopy Theater which is hosting a string and jug band music festival this weekend.
