THE INDYPENDENT NEWS HOUR: WOMEN RISING

On today's Indypendent News Hour, we speak with three women who are fighting abusers and for their own empowerment. In our first segment, we'll talk to Addie Turek, a Barnard College student who is one of the organizers of today's protest against their college's ties to Jeffrey Epstein. In our second segment, we'll talk with Lindsey Boylan. She was the first of 13 women to accuse then Gov. Andrew Cuomo of sexual harassment. And when Cuomo tried to revive his political career in last year's mayoral race, she played a leading role in reminding the public of his past abuses of power. Now, Boylan is running for City Council on Manhattan's West Side and her campaign is gaining momentum after winning a big endorsement yesterday. In the final part of today's show, we'll be joined in studio by feminist playwright and author Karen Malpede about her new article for The Indypendent on "Reclaiming Mothers as an Antidote to the Epstein Class".
