 VIVA VERDI! A FILM ON VERDI’S GREAT GIFT TO AGING MUSICIANS

On tonight’s show, we’ll be joined by filmmakers Yvonne Russo and Christine LaMonte and music director Nicholas Pike to discuss Viva Verdi! a film celebrating the great composer’s 130-year old gift to musical artists, Milan’s unique and most beautiful Casa di Riposo, a retirement home for opera singers and musicians living out their “third act.” The film follows the lives of its distinguished masters, aged 77 to 107, comprised of international opera singers, ballet dancers, musicians, conductors and composers, all of whom shine their inner light on why Verdi considered the Casa Verdi his best work.
