A FILM ABOUT A FUTURE SAINT AT AUSCHWITZ
ON TRIUMPH OF THE HEART, A FILM ABOUT A FUTURE SAINT AT AUSCHWITZ
On tonight’s show, we’ll be joined by filmmaker Andrew Holzschuh
to discuss his film with Anthony d’Ambrosio, Triumph of the Heart, which re-creates the true story of Maximillian Kolbe, a Catholic priest who volunteers to join nine men in a starvation bunker in Auschwitz, Poland, to forge a brotherhood of hope in the darkest place on earth.
In 1982, the real Kolbe was canonized by Pope John Paul II. The Catholic Church as well as several other Christian denominations venerate him as the patron saint of amateur radio operators, drug addicts, political prisoners, families, journalists and prisoners.
Writer, Director and Editor Anthony D’Ambrosio calls himself a storyteller and marketing specialist who has spent the last five years studying how movements can be ignited by shared purpose and belonging. He has partnered with a number of Catholic organizations and publications including the conservative Catholic University of America and Ascension Press. Triumph of the Heart is his first feature film.
Andrew Holzschuh is the Director of Photography, Post Supervisor, and Co-Editor of Triumph of the Heart. Although he has had over fifteen years of experience in film.
