There are 83 U.S. Cop City facilities being built or enlarged. They are touted as being for "safety," but they are making many communities less safe by militarizing local police forces and causing envionmental damage. Many of the Cop Cities sieze park lands to build out facilities. This causes flooding when rainfall has no place to go when the grass and trees are no longer there to absorb it. Eminent domain is used against private property to take land to build Cop Cities or enlarge current police training facilities. You might remember when a peaceful environmental activist, Tortuguita, was shot and killed while protesting the Atlanta Cop City.

Our guests today are Renee Johnston and Priscilla Grim. Renee is an abolitionist, researcher, political education event organizer, and former educator and union member. Priscilla is a NYC activist, an eye witness to the Atlanta Cop City actions, and is an Atlanta Cop City defendant
