BORIS KARLOFF-CREEPS BY NIGHT, HORROR, JEAN SHEPHERD
This Wednesday overnight, July 09 into 10, from 12 to 2 am in THE DUSTBIN OF HISTORY, Boris Karloff in another CREEPS BY NIGHT, the third episode of the CBC horror anthology series DEEP NIGHT, and yet another lost episode of JEAN SHEPHERD from July 08, 1970 "Artie the Gerbil's Birthday, Changing Fuel Pumps.” The program is heard on WBAI-NY 99.5 FM and on the stream at wbai.org.
CREEPS BY NIGHT from the Blue network on April 25, 1944 #6 "Those Who Walk In Darkness" from the AFRS program Mystery Playhouse with host Peter Lorre. A man's eyes have been successfully operated on...maybe! The doctor who performed the operation is still in love with the patient's wife. Boris' calm voice is filled with unspeakable horror. Or as Peter Lorre observes (with a slight chuckle), "An eye for an eye." Produced by Robert Maxwell.
DEEP NIGHT was a horror anthology produced by the CBC in the summer of 2005. It was part of their Monday Playbill series (though it ran on Friday nights) and was supposed to run for 10 weeks (but ultimately only ran for 7). The individual episodes mostly feature strong writing and production, but as a series it’s a bit of a hodgepodge — episodes “Someone Just For Me,” “Man Radio” and “Ice Screams” had originally run the year before on CBC Sunday Showcase’s WINTER’S TALES. Still, if you’re a fan of NIGHTFALL or VANISHING POINT, you’ll find a lot to love here.
DEEP NIGHT on July 15, 2005 #3 "The Intercom" by Gail Collins, produced & directed by Gregory J Sinclair. A woman is terrorized by ghostly voices from a disconnected intercom.
A lost episode of JEAN SHEPHERD from WOR-NY on Wednesday July 08, 1970
