LAW AND DISORDER APRIL 21, 2025

Today on Law and Disorder we recognize April 24 as the 110 anniversary of the Ottoman Empire’s systematic plan to exterminate the Armenian race, when The Young Turk government carried out widespread torture and brutal killings of more than half of the Armenian population.

We hear part of our annual documentary titled It Was Genocide: Armenian Survivor Stories. Law and Disorder co-host Heidi Boghosian narrates this sound rich documentary featuring rare stories of several adults who survived the Armenian genocide.

Co-hosts Stephen Rohde and Maria Hall then explore a current investigation to alleged discriminatory banking practices against Armenian Americans in the Los Angeles area. Guest Alex Bastian a member of The Armenian Bar Association Board of Governors and Chair of its Armenian Rights Watch Committee discusses the complaints such as unexpected account closures raise concern about potential ethnic or national origin based profiling.
