Co-hosts Michael Smith and Jim Lafferty examine the deep roots of Trumpism and the capitalist order. Returning guest Margaret Kimberly of Black Agenda Report joins host to discuss how to counter the long entrenched system with independent political action. Margaret is a New York-based writer and activist. She has been an editor and senior columnist for Black Agenda Report since it’s inception in 2006. She is author of the book Prejudential.
Co-hosts Michael and Jim then speak with Kshama Sawant, who came from her success as a Seattle city council member in winning the highest minimum wage in the United States. Kshama advances the strategy of political action independent of both the Democrat and Republican parties as being the key to success. Kshama Sawant was elected to and served 10 years on the Seattle, Washington City Council.
