'THE GREAT GATSBY MURDER CASE" BY DAVID FINKLE

On tonight’s show, we’ll be joined by author David Finkle to discuss his first mystery novel, The Great Gatsby Murder Case, about an obsessive collector of the many editions of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s masterpiece, The Great Gatsby, whose latest casual acquisition – the 1953 paperback edition --  mysteriously compels him to re- investigate a so-called “open and shut” suicide case which occurred some years before, across his own Manhattan street.

David Finkle is the author of two story collections, People Tell Me Things and Great Dates With Some Late Greats; two novels, The Man With the Overcoat and Keys to an Empty House, and the award-winning illustrated book of rhyming verse Humpty Trumpty Hit a Brick Wall.   Finkle has contributed pieces on art and politics to many publications, including The New York Times, The New York Post, The Nation, Psychology Today, the Village Voice, The New Yorker and New York.  He is currently a theater critic for New York Stage Review, and is heard weekly on The Hour of Lateral Thinking podcast.  Like his protagonist, Daniel Freund, David Finkle lives in Manhattan.
