"BRANDO 100" FILM FORUM FESTIVAL
CAT RADIO CAFÉ: ON “BRANDO 100,” FILM FORUM FESTIVAL, WITH GUEST FOSTER HIRSCH
On tonight’s show, we celebrate Brando 100, Film Forum’s two-week long festival of the films of Marlon Brando, America’s greatest and most revolutionary actor. We’ll be joined by film and stage historian and author, Foster Hirsch, who will kick off the festival on Friday
December 19 by introducing the opening night showing of On the Waterfront, Brando’s astonishing and first Oscar-winning performance and Reflections on A Golden Eye on December 26 at 1pm. Other films to be shown are A Streetcar Named Desire, Guys and Dolls, One-Eyed Jacks, The Godfather, Burn! Apocalypse Now, Last Tango in Paris and many more.
Foster Hirsch is Professor of Film at Brooklyn College and the author of numerous books on film and theater including A Method to Their Madness: The History of the Actors Studio and most recently, from Knopf, Hollywood and the Movies of the Fifties.
