HONOR MOORE ON "A TERMINATION," A MEMOIR

On tonight’s show we’ll be joined by poet, biographer, anthologist and memoirist Honor Moore to discuss A Termination, her reflection on the events, memories and decision surrounding her abortion at age 23, all finally laid bare, at age 76,  to her own written scrutiny.

Honor Moore’s previous six books include a biography, two memoirs and three collections of poetry. The Bishop’s Daughter was shortlisted for the National Book Critics Circle Award and was an LA Times Favorite Book of the Year. Our Revolution was featured on the New York Times Paperback Row. She has edited six anthologies, including Poems from the Women’s Movement and, with Alix Kates Shulman, Women’s Liberation: Feminist Writing that Inspired a Revolution and Still Can, both for Library of America.  She lives in New York City and teaches in the MFA program at the New School.  Honor Moore began writing A Termination eighteen months before the leak of the Supreme Court decision of May 1, 2022 to overthrow Roe v. Wade.
