In this week’s segment we hear about an ongoing court case, that of the CUNY 8, who are facing criminal charges stemming from their Palestine solidarity protest at City College in New York City. But first we speak to Omali Yeshitela, one of the Uhuru 3, who were recently sentenced to probation in a case charging that they acted under the direction of the Russian government without registering as foreign agents.

Omali Yeshitela is chairman of the African People's Socialist Party. He and his Uhuru 3 co-defendants, Penny Hess and Jesse Nevel, were recently convicted of conspiracy in a federal case alleging that they acted under the influence of the Russian government. On December 16 they were sentenced in a federal court to 3 years of probation and community service. Chairman Omali joins us from St. Louis to discuss this outcome and his thoughts on the political moment.

We’re are joined by Nora Fayad, who is one of the CUNY 8. Cuny is the city university of new York. Nora and 7 others were charged for their protest actions on the campus of City College, one of the CUNY schools. On April 30 they were arrested and charged with felony burglary, accused of attempting to enter a campus building without permission.
