Synopsis:

The Abandon Biden campaign mobilized voters to reject Joe Biden’s re-election effort as a result of his support Israel’s war crimes and genocide in Gaza. We discussed how their campaign pivoted with his withdrawal from the campaign and the Kamala Harris endorsement. But first we discuss a new book, “Armed Struggle: Panthers and Communists, Black Nationalists and Liberals in southern California, Through the Sixties and Seventies” with its author, Dr. Gerald Horne.

Dr. Gerald Horne is an author and historian who currently holds the John J. and Rebecca Moores Chair of History and African American Studies at the University of Houston. He joins us from Houston to discuss his latest book, “Armed Struggle: Panthers and Communists, Black Nationalists and Liberals in southern California, Through the Sixties and Seventies” which is published by international publishers.

Hudhayfah Ahmad is a representative of the Abandon Biden campaign, which calls on voters to reject Biden due to his role in Israel’s genocides and war crimes in Gaza. We discuss how and whether the campaign will change in the wake of Biden’s departure from the race and the elevation of Kamala Harris to the role of presumptive Democratic Party nominee.
