Synopsis:

5 DAYS, 50 MILES TO STOP FOSSIL FUELS

Politicians may know the right things to say to APPEAR environmentally friendly, but their actions are often anything but. Traditionally, corporate media reports what they say at a press conference, but not what they actually do. Grassroots activists are not letting them get away with it.

From August 16 to 20, Food & Water Watch and Empower NJ’s “Gov. Murphy: Walk Your Talk on Climate” will take climate activists on a 50-mile walk across New Jersey, from Newark to Red Bank, to call attention to 7 proposed fossil fuel projects. Four of these need permits from Gov. Murphy—this walk calls on him to match his actions to his rhetoric and deny the permits.

We will have several of the walkers on Eco-Logic on Friday, August 19 at 2:30 P.M.: Matt Smith of Food and Water Watch, peace and climate activist Paula Rogovin, and FWW intern and high-school student Vaibhav Shetty.
