JAZZ ARTISTS LORRAINE FEATHER AND EDDIE ARKIN ON “MY OWN PARTICULAR LIFE”

On tonight’s show we’ll celebrate the brilliant jazz singer/lyricist and tireless musical explorer, Lorraine Feather, and the latest of her long string of groundbreaking CD’s, this one called “My Own Particular Life.” We’ll be joined by Lorraine Feather and her co-producer and long-time musical colleague, composer and guitarist Eddie Arkin. (The album also features her regular gang of composer/soloists Shelley Berg, Russell Ferrante and Dave Grusin.

Lorraine Feather’s previous albums, among them Ages, Attachments, Tales of the Unusual, Flirting With Disaster, and Math Camp, as well as her songs for children, short videos and, at the personal request of Warren Beatty, the theme for his film The Rules Don’t Apply, have garnered critical praise, comparisons to Dorothy Parker and Dave Frischberg, multiple Grammy nominations, Emmys, Critics’ Choice and Hollywood Music in Media Awards. She has been part of a duo called Nouveau Stride with the phenomenal stride pianist Stephanie Trick and has been working with Nan Schwartz on a musical based on Cathleen Schine’s book, The Grammarians. She lives in Rochester, NY with her inspirational cat, Albert Einstein.
