THE ENVELOPE PLEASE AND SISTER SAGES

On this week’s edition of Untitled Producer Malika Lee Whitney raises hope for the Oscar nominated short film Feeling Through written and directed by Doug Roland. It is a rich telling of a unique connection between a homeless youth played by Steven Prescod as Tereek with nowhere to go. It features true casting of a Deaf/Blind man Robert Tarango as Artie who is trying to reach his destination.

Also noteworthy is Director Sophia Nahli Allison’s short A Love Song for Natasha and Two Distant Strangers Directed by Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe. Both nominated in the documentary and short film category. 

Rev. Dr. Khadijah Matin is a health care educator, a Muslim Chaplain and Spiritual Counselor at One Spirit Interfaith Seminary.  She has long been associated with the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society and a resourceful researcher, historian and truthteller.

Dr. LaFrancis Rodgers-Rose is the Founder and CEO of the International Black Women’s Congress. She is a clinical sociologist, professor, community leader, consultant and author. Dr. LaFrancis is a founding member and past president of the Association of Black Sociologists and the Association of Social and Behavioral Scientists

Dr. Safiya Bandele formerly a Professor at Medgar Evers College and Director of The Center for Women’s Development.  Her commitment and dedication to issues of health and wellness, social and economic justice and supporting community advancement initiatives is widely acknowledged. Safiya Bandele' s activism against mass incarceration is significant.
