Intern's Corner

The ability to receive academic credit is required for all positions. 

News Interns:

News interns will receive training in reporting, writing, and voicing news items for Hourly News and for the WBAI Evening news. Interns will cover live and virtual events and will need to be able to work in the field in some capacity in addition to remote work. News interns will have the opportunity for their work to be featured on our website. Some experience in journalism is preferred. 

Morning show Interns: 

WBAI’s new morning show, What's Going On! is looking for two interns to assist with producing weekly segments and booking guests. Applicants for this position should have one year of experience working in a news environment in addition to experience booking guests for a live radio show. We are also looking for a weekday morning interns who can come on the air with a weather and traffic report. We will train and guide you into this position. 

Community Bulletin Board

WBAI seeks interns to gather upcoming events and actions, to collate and then voice CBB reports twice weekly for on air features. 


WBAI is seeking an associate producer to gather and post and record commentaries for on air features. 

Graphic design and office intern:

Must be proficient in creating graphics for use on social media and web development using Canva, Illustrator or other similar software. The graphic design intern will be creating thumbnails and promotional graphics for podcasts and radio shows. 1 Year of relevant experience or college is required.The ability to commute to our Brooklyn offices once every 14 days to help with light administrative work is preferred.
