- The Pledge Call-in number “212-209-2950” will be migrated and used again for fund drives.
WHEN- The 250 Vesey St. move is in progress, awaiting phone installation and final transfer of files, computers, and networking capability.

WHERE
The 250 Vesey St. location is at 4 World Financial Center- 26th Fl :- Visitors call the receptionist when they arrive and are met by WBAI staff to receive a pass at the security desk on the second level, no prior notification is necessary.
- There will be computers there available 24/7 for general usage and editing and a production space will be set up there as well.
- GETTING TO WFC: The closest subway lines are the 123, to Chambers St (front of train), and ACE. Walk west over the West St. footbridge to the Vesey St. (Food Court) entrance.
The Cuny location is at 137th St. :
- All producers will be provided with a building ID card. Visitors arrive with their personal ID and are signed into the building at the reception desk, no prior notification is necessary.
- To provide enough production and editing facilities for producers, “off-site” studios will be made available at various locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
- The contract at City College is for 6 months and renewable if there are no issues – producers need to be professional in all ways. The GM at WHCR, who has studios there also, is Angela Harden – a WBAI listener and member.
- If people come early there is a lounge where you can sit and talk, a small cafeteria, and wireless access.
- GETTING TO CUNY: The #1 train to 137th & Broadway is the most direct route. However, if you have mobility issues (or don't feel like climbing Harlem's Vinegar Hill, which seems like a 45-degree incline for two long blocks), a transfer to a bus may be preferable.
- The M100 and M101 buses travel up the East Side (from Astor Place) and cut across 125th, so you can catch them at any of the 125th Street subway stops (except the 1 train... fortunately the 2/3 trains do).
- The M11 bus travels up Amsterdam Avenue and makes a turn right at 135th, which is the southern corner of the NAC building where the studio is located (entrance on 137th).
WHY- We are moving the administrative offices to Vesey St because we have been given 20 desk/office spaces, office equipment, and wifi, rent free for 6 months.
- This will enable WBAI to catch up on Empire State Building Antenna fees that have gone into arrears due to unsuccessful fund drives and we will not have the high overhead of 120 Wall St.
- This gives us 6 months to find a permanent (lease with option to buy) or semi-permanent (lease at a lower cost) location for the station.
- The CUNY location was chosen as it avails the station 24/7 sole access to the studios, no need for any sort of build out or purchase of equipment, the ability to do video streaming, a performance space, and a low cost rental fee.
HOW- The actual physical move is being made possible by the efforts of the paid and unpaid staff as well as a cadre of volunteers arranged by Interim Ops Director, Tony Ryan. Tony can be reached by emailing him at ops@wbai.org.
- The move is also occuring as a result of the hurricane and the support of sympathetic organizations, city officials, and agencies.
- The General Manager and Interim Development Director have been developing relationships with city and state officials, and searching for spaces in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten island. They are diligently pursuing these relationships in response to the unanimous support from officials to help WBAI establish a new permanent home.
- The goal is to reunite the station administrative offices and studios ASAP.
- Producers are volunteering to assist as a committee to aide in locating an appropriate location for the station.
- There will be one producer’s meeting a month at one of our partnering organization’s locations that will be announced.
- Tours for producers of the CUNY space are being planned by Tony Ryan starting the week of 1/14/13.
- Visits to Vesey St / WFC can be arranged at present by emailing Andrea Katz: andrea@wbai.org.
