Notification issued 11/11/12 at 7:30 PM. Beginning tomorrow, 11/12/12, the Hugh L. Carey (formerly Brooklyn-Battery) Tunnel will be opened to buses only, during specific time frames. Manhattan bound bus travel will be permitted from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and Brooklyn bound bus travel will be permitted from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The tunnel is not currently open to private vehicles.
