FRONTLINE VOICES with Rebecca Myles. 7-30-25
Rebecca Myles speaks with Boutaina Chafi, Palestine Youth Movement, on her group's explosive Canadian Arms Embargo Report that documented the Canadian government misled the public when it claimed it had halted all new exports to Israel last year.
The report was a collaboration between the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), World Beyond War, and Arms Embargo Now.
"Shipments of arms to Israel were allowed to proceed under hundreds of previously approved permits. This communications ploy allowed Canadian companies to continue to profit from Israel’s genocide while the Federal government misled Canadians into believing they were no longer arming the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza," according to the report.
"Exposing Canadian Military Exports to Israel" listed close to 400 shipments from over 20 Canadian manufacturers including more than 420,000 bullets, 735 cartridge parts, F-35 jet parts such as navigation sensors and radar systems, and dual-use items like GPS antennas.
In Part II, Rebecca gets a debrief from Caleb Maupin, political analyst, on Gaza/Israel, Saudi, Qatar, Egypt calling on Hamas to disarm, and the status of U.S. trade talks.

One of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded, with a magnitude of 8.8, struck off Russia's far east early Wednesday, sending tsunami waves into Japan, Hawaii, and the US West Coast, according to the US Geological Survey.
Authorities warned the risk from the 8.8 magnitude quake could last for hours. Millions of people potentially in the path of the waves were told to move away from the shore or seek high ground.

Tsunami heights of 10–13 feet were recorded in Kamchatka, two feet on Japan's Hokkaido island, and up to 1.4 feet above tide in Alaska's Aleutian islands. Close to 2 million people faced evacuation warnings in Japan.
Tsunami waves were also detected in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, and Hawaii, where the biggest waves were 5.5 feet. No major damage or casualties have been reported.
