We Decide: America at the Crossroads—The Campaign Continues, from WBAI and the Pacifica Radio Network, with Jenna Flanagan and Bob Hennelly broadcasting from New York with an eye on the nation.

With just 49 days to go until an election as consequential as the 1864 contest during the Civil War, we take a look at how Americans are stepping up to the 2024 challenge of getting voters to turn out amidst voter suppression efforts in multiple states.

This week we learn that almost half of America’s counties have 20,000 or fewer residents. We hear from Ty Pinkins about his uphill climb in Mississippi to become the first Democrat elected to the U.S. Senate in decades. We learn from Harris County, Texas, voting rights attorney Nicole Pederson just how hard it is to vote in the Lone Star State and why Attorney General Ken Paxton likes it that way.

While the 2024 campaign coincides with a revival of the American labor movement a generation in the making, we ask Pascual Contreras, the political coordinator for AFGE Local 1250 out of Arizona that represents TSA workers, and fellow union official Dianne Rodriguez if that will translate into union voter mobilization.
