The United States vetoed an Arab-backed United Nations resolution put forth by Algeria today demanding an immediate humanitarian cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war in the embattled Gaza Strip. The disappointment and frustration in the UN Security Council was palpable. Algeria says every Palestinian is a target for genocide and asks how many innocent lives must be sacrificed before the Council deems it necessary to call for a ceasefire.
