74 year old Donald Trump announced on twitter after midnight that he first lady Melania Trump tested positive for the coronavirus. He tweeted, "Tonight,
@FLOTUS
and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!"
One of Trump's top aides, Hope Hicks who traveled with Trump frequently tested positive for COVID on Thursday. Hicks traveled with Trump to the first presidential debate in Cleveland on Tuesday.
Late Thursday evening Trump tweeted, "Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible!"
Sean P Conley, Physician to the President released a statement saying the President and First Lady are both well at this time, and plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.
