Massachusett Senator Elizabeth Warren opposing the nomination of William Wehrum to be Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) assistant administrator for air and radiation.
—On the WBAI Evening News, the U.S. Senate approves an industry insider to serve with Scott Pruitt at the EPA. Massachusett Senator Elizabeth Warren says, "Regulations that Mr. Wehrum helped write contradicted or violated the Clean Air Act and failed to protect public health." —There will be devastation and starvation unless steps are taken to end the blockade by the Saudis in Yemen. "It will not be like the famine which cost 250,000 lives in Somalia in 2011. It will be the largest famine the world has seen in many decades with millions of victims," says UN Humanitarian Chief Marc Lowcock.—As the U.S.. tightens travel to Cuba beginning today, a Cuban insider General Fabian Escalante says the supposed sonic attack against diplomats is a CIA construct. He speaks with WBAI's Sally O'Brien.—Then we look at the Trump administration's motives for restricting travel to Cuba which goes into effect today and we hear from Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy who says, "The hypocrisy of the White House ideologues is glaring."
