Donald Trump read from his script carefully in a speech he delivered to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday. Emphasizing his administration's America First vision of foreign policy, he says nothing on climate change, arguably one of the most pressing issues facing the planet.
And Trump says little on the importance of diplomacy in solving conflicts. Instead he ratchets up the conflct with North Korea saying, "The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea. Rocketman is on a suicide mission for himself and his regime."
Trump’s speech, a collection of warmongering tweets, paints the U.S. as a compassionate nation as opposed to rogue governments he proceeds to disparage. You can listen to audio of our report by clicking above.
