Trump Approves of Militarizing Local Police

Former Alabama Senator, Donald Trump’s U.S. Attorney General, Jeff Sessions praised Trump’s new executive order which restores the flow of surplus military gear to local police departments. The 1033 military transfer program from the Department of Defense was curtailed by Barack Obama. This after law enforcement in Ferguson, Missouri confronted protesters with military-style equipment after the police shooting of 18-year-old Mike Brown.
In Nashville, Jeff Session was applauded by the National Fraternal Order of Police as he spoke out in favor of reinstating the program.
