Corruption in New York's Bail Bond Industry

The commercial bond industry which lacks oversight syphons money into private industry according to Peter Goldberg, executive director of the Brooklyn Community Bail Fund. "This makes the financial divide in hardest hit communities more pronounced." 

Roughly 45,000 NYC men and women will be placed in jail because they can't afford bail. And where are they sent? Usually to Rikers.
