—Is your family member a bona fide relative? This question is at the heart of the Supreme Court's partial reinstatement of Donald Trump’s travel ban, which went into effect Thursday evening.

—Is a bona fide relative your grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, cousin, brother or sister-in-law, or other extended family member? Well no, not according to the State Department which issued a cable to U.S. embassies and consulates late on Wednesday providing a narrow, very narrow, definition of who is a close,"bona fide" family member.
