Finally the House Acts, Well, At Least House Dems

—In the wake of the lone wolf terrorist attack in Orlando, House Democrats led by John Lewis staged a revolt. They Occupied the House in a push for a vote on safe gun laws. Bills they want to pass would expand background checks and block gun and ammunition purchases by suspected terrorists.

—This action comes days after Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy staged a 15 hours filibuster on the Senate floor to force a vote on gun reform. Four measures were brought to a vote on Monday, but but failed to reach the 60 votes needed. Murphy and several other Democratic Senators joined with the House Dems in their action on Wednesday.
