- New York City 07/21/2015 by Linda Perry (WBAI News)

Uber, the San Francisco ride-hailing service is using its wealth to buy airtime on New York City television stations and they are robocalling city residents, all in an effort to stop the mayor and the city council from capping the number of their cars for a year while their impact is studied.

Meanwhile taxi drivers, labor and progressive groups are denouncing Uber as a creator of low wage jobs with no benefits, not different from Walmart or McDonalds.
