A report in Monday’s New York Post says Major League Soccer is close to finalizing a deal with the city and state to build a professional soccer stadium on 9 acres of parkland in Flushing Meadows Park in Queens. It would require city and state approval since it involves the turning over of public parkland to a private entity, Major League Soccer.
