Poll results for New York City Comptroller are mixed up. A day after a Quinnipiac poll found Manhattan borough president Scott Stringer and disgraced former Governor Eliot Spitzer neck in neck at 46-46, a different poll finds Spitzer with a sizeable lead.
The new poll released Friday by Siena College and The New York Times showed Spitzer with 50 percent of likely Democratic voters, Stringer at 35 percent.
Whether these opinion polls are a meaningful barometer of likely voters remains to be seen. The primary is just around the corner on Sept. 10. The winner will face the Republican nominee in the Nov. 5 general election.
