The New York City Council is expected to override Mayor Bloomberg's veto of the Community Safety Act on Thursday. The CSA seeks to end discriminatory policing and bring accountability to the NYPD. One bill sets up an independent permanent NYPD monitor in the office of Inspector General. The other - the End Discriminatory Profiling Act - expands profiling protections for all New Yorkers.
