WBAI’s JANET COLEMAN (producer and co-host with David Dozer of Cat Radio Café and The Next Hour) has been touring since Spring 2011 with playwright/director/composer (and Guggenheim and multiple Obie winner) Richard Maxwell and his New York City Players in Maxwell’s musical play Neutral Hero. The company has so far performed at Kunstenfestival des Arts (Brussels); Wiener Festwochen (Vienna); Festival d’Automne a Paris, Les Spectacles vivants – Centre Pompidou (Paris); Kampnagel (Hamburg); Hebbel am Ufer (HAU) (Berlin); Theatre de l”Agora, Scene National d’Evry et de l’Essonne (Evry); Festival TransAmeriques (Montreal); De Internationale Keuze van de Rotterdamse Schouwburg (Rotterdam); La Batie – Festival de Geneve (Geneva); Theatre Garonne (Toulouse); and Mostra SESC de Arts 2012 (Sao Paulo). She is also currently working on a biography of Viola Spolin, “The High Priestess of Improvisational Theater,” and creator of the body of acting exercises called “Theater Games." The publisher is Northwestern University Press.
