Coming soon to WBAI.ORG: Cartoonist Alejandro Dron
- 08/01/2012 by Andrea Katz

WBAI is pleased to announce the upcoming addition of political cartoon works by artist Alejandro Dron to our homepage. Dron takes his alter ego, Zohar, through the many trials and tribulations of the Arab Spring and Occupy Wall Street, two social uprisings both of which demand a more just world.

Like Basho, the greatest Haiku poet, Dron starts his journey to the depths of human experience, with pen and paper. His are visual haikus, simple yet complex, beautiful yet brutal commentaries on current politics and morality.

A master of the compelling and poetic line, Dron recently published a collection, "The Daily Zohar: A Daily Commentary on Actuality" and has been compared to Saul Steinberg in skill and imagination. Alejandro Dron’s Zohar is one of the most original and evoking characters on paper today, invading our consciousness and our hearts.
