Inauguration and Resistance
- Washington, DC 01/23/2017 by Linda Perry (WBAI News)

A divided America is in evidence as Donald Trump is inaugurated. On one side of Pennsylvania Ave. white middle class Trump supporters praise him, hopeful that he'll bring back jobs and fix trade laws. Many wear red Make America Great Again baseball caps.

On the other side of Pennsylvania Ave, protesters denounce the new President. They chant, "Not our President" and call him a fascist as they pledge to fight against his policies. These are voices mainstream media didn't cover, the voices of resistance at the Answer Coalition Rally, which our sister station WPFW broadcast live.

WBAI News was at the inauguration and at the rally with our sister station reporting live. Please click the arrow to hear our report.
