Report From the Left Forum: Military Families Speak Out
- New York City 06/01/2015 by Linda Perry (WBAI)

Statistics are sobering. Over 6,840 American troops have been killed and over 50,000 physically injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. One million Iraqis and 220,000 Afghans have been killed

Over 48% of veterans returning from the wars in those two countries have some type of depression or PTSD and the Veterans Administration doesn't have funding to cope with the need. This is according to Military Families Speak Out.

The national group based in California presented at the Left Forum in Manhattan this weekend. They believe supporting our troops does not translate into support for wars. MFSO opposes what they say is the misuse of the military especially in Iraq and Afghanistan and they are among many organizations calling for an open debate in Congress about the issue of military action in Iraq and Syria.
